Your Journey

Deep in the Cambodian jungles are the remains of civilizations from the past. You’ll visit these ancient marvels and learn about the area’s rich history. The spectacular ancient Khmer temples of Angkor comprise one of the most impressive and well-preserved temple complexes in the world—the majestic Angkor Wat. Civilizations from the past built these gigantic religious monuments, and many were lost, forgotten or destroyed during wars.

Siem Reap, Cambodia

Day 1 – Your Cambodian adventure begins immediately from the airport. Once you clear customs at Siem Reap International Airport, change into your biking clothes and pedal a road less travelled into town. This ride is a delightful introduction to this wonderful kingdom’s roads and temperatures. Along the way, you’ll pedal past the front of the remarkable Angkor Wat.

Activity: A 15-km (9.3-mi) ride through the Cambodian countryside.

Day 2 – Bike or walk into the heart of the Cambodian countryside to explore the local Khmer temples of present-day Cambodia. This will give you a greater appreciation for Cambodia before you delve into the ancient kingdom this afternoon. After your escape from the midday sun, head into the magnificent temple of Angkor Wat, where our local guide describes this awe-inspiring temple that has defied time and nature for more than 700 years. At nightfall, head into town for a sunset cocktail and dinner at our favourite local restaurant.

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Activity: A 20-km (12.42-mi) ride through the Cambodian countryside.

Day 3 – Today is dedicated to a deep exploration of the temples of Bayon with our local guide, who will bring the stone celestial dancers to life for us. After exploring Bayon’s exquisite Buddhist temples, the day becomes even livelier. With the wind in your hair, traverse trails lined by a jungle of silk, cotton and strangler fig trees. Lunch will be in town at one of the up-and-coming restaurants. The afternoon is yours to enjoy. Feel free to go on another great bike ride, hike through the Cambodian countryside or visit the lady temple of Bantei Srei. Our guide will make suggestions for dinner. Whether you’re in the mood for a taste of the local cuisine or an upscale dinner, you’ll have plenty of options to choose from.

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Activity: A 28-km (17.39-mi) ride through the Angkor Wat temple complex. There are more options for those that want to bike in the afternoon.

Day 4 – On your final day in Siem Reap, head out early to explore the wild jungle temple of Ta Prohm. This famous 12thC temple, shrouded by overgrown trees and vines, is an awe-inspiring homage to both nature and mankind. From Ta Prohm, you’ll bike or walk through the park, passing the temples of Bayon, Angkor Wat, the Elephant Terrace and the gates of Angkor Thom one last time on your way back to the hotel for an early lunch. This afternoon you’ll have time for some well-deserved R&R by the pool. Later we’ll meet for cocktails and then head off for dinner in town. After dinner we will take you to the airport for your departing flight.

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner.

Activity: An 18-km (11.18-mi) ride through the temple complex.
