The artist, known as ‘KING‘, has been an important figure within the art world for over a decade. “Warhol once said we will all have our 15 minutes of fame… that’s enough for me!” I’d rather have 15 years of peace, quiet and anonymity” jokes KING to the OnceOff group.

Tiring of modern society’s self-promoting culture & obligatory networking in order to have ones work deemed credible by the powers that be, KING withdrew from the public eye and the art world in general. “I decided to return to the root of what makes art real & focus on the work itself” says the KING. “Life is too short…my time is precious, my health is my wealth. I have ‘made it’ in the art world. I made my dreams became a reality. My prayers were answered or so I thought…

After some time I realised that this wasn’t fulfilling me anymore and questioned whether it ever did. I realise the true riches in life now. I have no interest in that world anymore. My love lies within the process, the making of the work. Each of my works are a meditation, a freedom, an ephemoral bliss recorded and transferred to the canvas. They are a time capsule, my time capsule. My time is and has become the art work. My time is priceless”

This is why the KING’s works are limited, totally couture, one-of-a-kind, OnceOff pieces. I have finally found a representative that I truly trust. These guys get me. We were from from two different worlds but now our worlds have aligned.
