This bottle is a very rare bottling for celebrating the memory of Keizo Saji Grand Cordon of the Order Sacred Treasure. Bottled in 1989 aged over 25 year old with a very nice presentation. A very limited bottling .Aged in the finest Sherry casks for the entire maturation period to produce a fragrant, sherried, fruity, oaky masterpiece. This is an absolutely fantastic whisky,one of the best whisky’s Japan has ever produced in OnceOff’s humble opinion!

Distillery Information

Yamazaki is Japan’s oldest whisky distillery opened in 1923, it was founded by Shinjiro Torii near Oaska. The location was chosen because of the excellent water supply in the area. This seems to have payed off, today Single Malts from the Yamazaki distillery has the largest share of any single malts whiskies in Japan. The 18 year old Yamazaki Single Malts is thought by many to be the best whisky in the world and has for example won six consecutive double gold medals at the San Francisco Spirits Competitions from 2008 to 2013.
